About Us
The Roots of Our Mission
In 2023, Christian Jäger founded the Dr. Manfred Jäger Educational Center, inspired by the dedication of his late father, Dr. Manfred Jäger, to education, social justice, and sustainable development. Together with Walter Lutschinger from the Desert Flower Foundation, the first educational center was established in Sierra Leone, now providing high-quality education to 650 children—regardless of their background, religion, or gender.
From the very beginning, ensuring equal access to education for both girls and boys has been a core priority, as it is essential for sustainable social progress. A key focus of our work is raising awareness about and actively combating harmful practices such as female genital mutilation (FGM), which we address through specialized education and outreach programs.
With our expansion into Tanzania, we are continuing this mission, promoting equality, tolerance, and diversity.
Why Sierra Leone and Tanzania?
Despite their rich natural resources, Sierra Leone and Tanzania are among the African nations where access to education and future opportunities remain significantly limited. Both countries face major social and economic challenges, including high poverty rates, limited access to quality education and healthcare, and stark disparities between urban and rural areas.
In many rural regions, education is still out of reach, which severely restricts long-term development opportunities for entire communities. These challenges highlight the urgent need for targeted educational projects to provide young people with the opportunity for a better life and to foster sustainable change in these countries.
Our Vision
We envision a world where every child in Sierra Leone and Tanzania has the opportunity to reach their full potential through education. We believe in a future where education is a fundamental right, unlocking life-changing possibilities for every child. As pioneers, we aim to nurture a new generation of leaders, thinkers, and innovators who will make a lasting positive impact on their communities.
Our Mission
The mission of the Dr. Manfred Jäger Educational Center is to drive sustainable development in Sierra Leone and Tanzania through high-quality education and innovative teaching methods. We not only provide students with knowledge but also encourage critical thinking, curiosity, and social responsibility.
Our approach is holistic—beyond academic excellence, we cultivate social skills, ethical awareness, and cultural openness. By making education accessible and empowering young people to challenge existing structures, we actively contribute to breaking cycles of poverty and inequality.
Furthermore, we are committed to combating female genital mutilation (FGM) and promoting education, gender equality, and social progress.
With every project, we honor and continue Dr. Manfred Jäger’s legacy—his passion, dedication, and unwavering belief in education as the key to a better world remain our driving force.
